Artificial MUGA Pitch Construction
AstroCare provide a complete range of synthetic pitch building services. This includes soil excavation, (to take away or bank on site), base construction, using either MOT type one or 28mm clean stone, base course and complete topping to finish.
All courts are free-draining, meaning substructure and surfacing are porous, allowing water to drain through and either dissipate naturally or is caught in a drainage system. This ensures the surface will be playable nearly all year around. As we are not restricted to one provider of Artificial grass or Artificial Clays, we are able to source the highest quality to suit your budget or requirements.
Artificial Grass and Artificial Clay
- Geotextile membrane and drainage system if required.
- 150 mm (minimum) compacted depth non-frost susceptible carboniferous limestone or granite.
- 40 mm compacted depth base course porous asphalt.
- 25 mm open grade 6 mm diameter aggregate porous asphalt.
- Sand filled artificial grass wearing course.

Sports Floodlighting
Using NICEIC registered contractors; we can design, build, install and maintain your court or pitch lighting needs. We design your lighting with regard to the surrounding environment, ensuring light pollution and the visual impact is kept to a minimum, whilst giving optimum lighting levels.
In general, fast action, a small playing object (tennis ball) and long viewing distance will require high lighting levels. A slower speed, larger playing object (football) and closer viewing distance will require lower lighting levels. In addition many sports governing bodies also provide separate specific lighting requirements.
Most recommendations of individual sports lighting levels are divided into classes of play:
Class I – Top Level Competition
Class II – Intermediate Level Competition
Class III – Lower Level Competition & Supervised Training
Apart from the lighting levels, other factors need to be taken in to account including the number, height, and location of the fixings and the power supply available.

Weld mesh is a versatile fencing used in a variety of areas including commercial, sports, leisure and play areas. We are able to offer numerous weld mesh fencing options in various materials, colours and sizes. Benefits to weld mesh fencing include strong, safe design making it secure and difficult to climb. It can be installed on any terrain and in any location and can be adapted to work alongside other security measures such as CCTV camera and lighting.
Chain Link Fencing
Chain link is probably the most commonly used fencing system due to its versatility, convenience and cost. It is used for a variety of sports fields - tennis courts, playgrounds etc. When installed correctly this fencing system provides strong resistance and is extremely durable. This is the ideal low cost fencing system and can provide excellent security.

To ensure maximum performance and longevity of your sports surface, AstroCare recommends a regular maintenance programme. It is generally recognised by contractors and official sports bodies, that a well maintained artificial turf surface will outlast a neglected one by up to 50%.
