Astrocare specialise in high-quality installation and maintenance for AstroTurf, clay and hard-surface sports pitches. We pride ourselves on delivering excellent services at a competitive price.

Why Astrocare?

We are experts with sand-based Astro turf installation, cleaning and maintenance, while providing a quality, reliable service for excellent value.

As well as offering excellent-value artificial turf maintenance services, we also install artificial sports pitches using the UK’s leading supplier of artificial grass, and carry out ancillary works including fencing, floodlighting, and peripheral landscaping.

Whether you are a sports club manager, run a school, university, leisure centre or local authority sports pitch, or If you are a homeowner with an artificial grass lawn or sports pitch, regular maintenance should be carried out on your artificial turf to protect your investment in the long term.

Work such as brushing and drag brushing to redistribute the infill, sand or rubber crumb top-ups and deep cleaning should be carried out on at least an annual basis, ideally at the start of the playing season. It may be necessary for this to happen more often, depending on use, the surrounding area, environmental factors and existing condition.

Rejuvenation improves drainage, de-compacts heavy use areas and returns the surface back to its original condition (allowing for wear). Successful Rejuvenation and a suitable maintenance program, will add a further 5+ years to the life of a surface which would otherwise have had to be replaced.

Hard Surface Tennis Court

Courts can be sprayed to kill off any moss and algae but for more serious infestations, high pressure water and motorised brushes can be used to clean the courts.

AstroCare also specialises in the re-spaying of all hard courts with high quality, water based acrylic paints and comes in a variety of colours including spring green, forest green, light holly, summer red, terracotta and black

Depending on the condition of the court, a binder coat may need to be applied first but this will be discussed first.

Moss & Algae Treatments

Moss and algae on your sports surface is due to warm, damp conditions. Artificial Turf, Synthetic Grass or AstroTurf surfaces are often surrounded by trees and / or bushes which provide shade and the perfect environment for growth. This looks unsightly but more importantly will become slippery and dangerous.

Factors encouraging growth in:

– Shaded areas,

– Poor drainage,

– Poor air quality,

– Leaves left on the ground

– Especially over winter

Brushing & Drag Brushing

Cleaning and brushing remove debris from the surface of the pitch and help to remove vegetation build up. With time, rubber and sand infill in your artificial turf, synthetic grass or AstroTurf surface infill and fibres become compacted around the key play areas, and this reduces comfort, drainage and safety.

With regular power and drag brushing by an expert, the surface can be levelled to give a true and consistent playing surface. This helps to reduce the possibility of flooding and slippage and improves the all-around look and feel of the surface. At Astro Care, we can also asses if the correct depth of sand or rubber is in place or if it needs altering. By using a power brush, the tips of the artificial fibres will also be lifted reducing the likelihood of compaction, while the drag brush will agitate and level the fibres and infill.

Line & Carpet Repairs

With time, your Artificial Turf, Synthetic Grass or AstroTurf surfaces will become worn in specific areas or lines may come loose from backing tape.

We can cut out the affected area and replace with an identical carpet. Due to wear there may be some variance in pile length so this would be trimmed to give the best possible match.

For lines that have come loose and are a safety hazard, we are able to either fully replace the line or if possible replace the backing tape and glue it into place.
